The Calais Jungle is facing increased violence and evictions in a campaign of intimidation to oust refugees from its town.
Instead of new beginnings and prosperity for the New Year, events for the residents of the ‘Calais Jungle’ have gone from bad to worse.
Tear gas in the camps, bulldozing religious buildings and violent protests are but the tip of the iceberg. Things have become of such concern to civil society trying to help residents in the camp that the Legal Centre, situated inside the Jungle, are taking further action.
After receiving over 50 reports in a matter of several weeks, the Legal Centre will hand over the reports to the French prosecutor who will investigate the issue further.
